All beginnings are hard, and while it is easy to find generic information on estimating and preconstruction, it is actually very hard to find actual examples that people can understand. For many the development of an Estimate seems to be a complete unknown – a mystical “black box” in which items fall in and numbers come magically out, and nobody can see inside it – with exception of the estimator of course. Actual estimating is in reality logical, and uses assumptions and arithmetic to fill in gaps.
With this blog I intent to bring light into the tunnel – with actual examples that make sense. We will break the estimate down into its pieces, and you will see how simple it actually is! Welcome to my blog!
